Weekly Badge Tips 2/6-2/12

Perfect Pair Solitaire – Going Overboard Badge
Make 32 perfect matches this week! (Win the game to check your progress)

Tips:
  • A Perfect Pair (perfect match) occurs when you match two cards that are directly across from each other.
  • To make a pair, the two cards to need add up to face value of 13. For example, 2 and Jack(11), or 5 and 8. Not sure? Matching cards have the same color!
  • Use the numbers on the edges of the cards to help plan ahead a few moves.
  • If you are blocked by a specific card, undo until you find the last match of the same card. Attempt to continue without making the same match again.
  • Remember your Free Cell! This can help you by moving a card out of the way so you can make a match. However, you can only use the Free Cell as many times as the amount of “Love Savers” that you have next to the Free Cell (Life Savers/Preservers)
  • Don’t forget about the cards on the shore or floating in the water. It’s best to distribute the removals among every row equally.

QWERTY – Stellar Speller Badge
Capture 22 gold stars this week!

Tips:
  • To capture a gold star, you need to play a word so that a letter covers the gold star.
  • If a word won’t bring you closer toward a gold star, try to bring yourself closer to your opponent’s words. If you connect to their words, you can then build off any letter on the board, opening up the chance to play for even more gold stars!
  • Two letter words can also help you get gold stars! If you can’t land on the gold star with a longer word, try getting a word alongside it. Then you can create a 2 letter word to capture the gold star.
  • Try to plan ahead a few moves. Look at the letters left in your rack and see if you will be able to use those to get a gold star on your next turn.
  • Letters like –ED and –ING can help you lengthen words for easy points!
  • The S tile is very valuable! If you played a word that can be made plural, like CAT, you can then make another word with an S, like DOGS, SHIRT, or CASE. Just line the new word up so that the S causes CAT to become CATS! Sometimes you can also use letters such as Y, R, and D in the same way.
